Common questions

Things people ask us.

Is ModPhone HIPAA compliant?

HIPAA is handled case by case for Enterprise customers. A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) isn’t part of standard plans, so ModPhone shouldn’t be used for protected health information (PHI) unless one is in place — contact us and we’ll walk through your requirements. All data is encrypted with 256-bit AES at rest and in transit, retention is configurable, and your data is never used to train shared AI models.

Can ModPhone handle appointment scheduling for medical offices?

Yes. ModPhone integrates with Google Calendar and other scheduling systems to check availability, book appointments, send confirmations, and handle rescheduling — all automatically during the call.

How does ModPhone handle medical emergencies on calls?

ModPhone recognizes urgent language and immediately transfers emergency calls to your designated staff or on-call provider. Non-emergency calls are handled by the AI or routed to the appropriate department.
